Onion Markers

Onions are highly influenced by planting density. Onions planted too close together may be misshapen, not grow to full size, or mature later than expected, while onions that are planted too far apart will result in reduced yields.

Fintrac teaches farmers to make and use onion markers to mark holes for transplanting onion bulbs. The markers ensure optimal planting density for maximum yields and water conservation. The markers can be adapted to the particular onion variety, season and location.

By using these basic techniques, farmers are working more efficiently and obtaining higher yields, allowing them to earn more money on the same plots of land.
